Joris Veldhoven

Paul Haering

Vice President, Capital Investments

Paul is Vice President of Capital Investment for New York Transco LLC., which was formed in 2014 and is comprised of affiliates of New York State’s investor-owned utilities. In his role, Paul leads the company’s growth strategy and oversee a team of engineers, planners, and operations experts focused on strengthening New York’s electric grid. This includes advancing innovative transmission projects and ensuring the reliable operation of New York Transco’s existing infrastructure and assets. New York Transco’s purpose is to plan, develop, and own new high-voltage electric transmission facilities that will enhance the current capabilities of the bulk electric power system across the state.
Prior to his current role, Paul worked for Central Hudson Gas & Electric for over 33 years and retired as the Senior Vice President of Engineering and System Operations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College; earned a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnic University; is a graduate of the GE Power System Engineering Program; and earned an Executive MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Vice President, Project Management & Construction

Peter Rooney

Peter joined New York Transco in 2024 as Vice President of Project Management & Construction, bringing decades of success delivering major energy and infrastructure projects across the U.S. Previously, Peter was Vice President of Project Management and Execution at Eversource Energy, where he led the terrestrial buildout of wind generation in New York and Rhode Island—including transmission lines, substations, and converter stations.
Peter has played a hands-on role in moving major power, transmission, and clean energy projects from concept to completion. Peter is a Long Island resident and holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the City College of New York.
